Our Practice
Our staff understands that when you are not feeling well, you do not want to wait to see your doctor. It is therefore always our paramount goal to ensure our patients are able to to secure an appointment in an expeditious manner. Our patients can always expect to be greeted by our friendly staff upon entering our office and assisted promptly. We want all of our patients to feel cared for and to know that we will listen to them and respect their feelings, concerns, and fears. We strongly believe in patient education and patient encouragement; we make sure they fully understand their options and stress the importance of good communication on our behalf to produce optimal results in treatment.

Our Doctors
Marina Ostroukhova, MD PhD
Dr. Marina Ostroukhova, MD PhD is a Board Certified Allergist who specializes in allergy, asthma, and immunology, providing care for both pediatric and adult patients. She has been practicing in allergy and immunology since 2010. She received her MD, PhD from Moscow State University. Dr. Ostroukhova also did postdoctoral research in the field of molecular biology and immunology at Yale University and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she studied the molecular mechanism of immune tolerance. Her work thereafter was published in several very respectable scientific journals. She then returned to clinical practice and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY and an Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center, which is a leader in treating respiratory, immune, and other related medical conditions. She was practicing allergy and immunology at private practice at Vail, Colorado prior coming to Hawaii. She is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, as well as she is active in national and local allergy and asthma societies. Her recent scientific interests include integrative approaches to allergies and asthma, exercise induced asthma, urticaria, and anaphylaxis with "novel" therapeutic modalities. Dr. Ostroukhova always has had a passion to help her patients and addresses every individual with the outmost care and attention.
Aparna Shah, MD
Dr. Aparna Shah is a physician taking care of patients who have Allergy-Immunology related disorders. She is Board certified in two specialities, Allergy-Immunology and Pediatrics. Her expertise includes treatment of patients with asthma and allergies - including food, nasal and eye, skin (eczema and contact dermatitis) and pet - as well as sinus problems and hives. She also has experience in the evaluation and treatment of patients who suffer from recurrent infections and immune system disorders. Dr. Shah is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army with 26 years of active duty service. She completed a two-year Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. in 1988. Prior to that, Dr. Shah did her Residency in Pediatrics at Michael Reese Medical Center in Chicago, IL and graduated from Baroda Medical College in Gujarat, India in 1971. Dr. Shah has received numerous gold medals and awards including the prestigious President of India Gold Medal for the highest ranking woman medical graduate amongst all Indian universities. She is also a fellow and active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
In her free time Dr. Shah enjoys doing yoga, walking, cooking, sewing and listening to audio books. She and her husband, Dr. Sharad Shah, have lived in Honolulu since 1977.
Akila Sreedharan, MD
Dr. Akila Sreedharan, MD is a Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist and has been in practice since 2010. She specializes in a broad spectrum of allergy and immunology conditions including primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, a variety of atopic conditions (including allergic rhinitis), atopic and contact dermatitis, asthma, food allergies, anaphylaxis and many other allergy related conditions. Dr. Sreedharan sees adult and pediatric patients. She received her MD in 2003 from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her Allergy/Immunology fellowship training at the Penn State Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania in 2009. During her fellowship she was trained by Dr. Timothy Craig who is one of the leaders of diagnosis and treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE). Her residency training was completed in both the Penn State Hershey Medical Center and the Indiana University Medical School. Dr. Sreedharan believes in giving each patient adequate time and attention to address their allergy and asthma related concerns. She has a special interest in how a healthy diet and lifestyle can be used as an adjunct to medical therapy to treat chronic medical conditions.
